Mi A1 – Created by Xiaomi, Powered by Google

xiaomi mi a1

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is a great mobile phone in its own right, but Xiaomi’s step to partner with Google to deliver stock Android makes it a much more compelling option. Considering this is an Android One smartphone, it comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS out of the box, without any MIUI skin on top of it. Here at PickaBlog, we are trying to demonstrate why you should go for the pure Android version of Xiaomi:

Why Android One? Not MIUI!

With Mi A1 Xiaomi is at its best now. Android One is the purest form of Android. Now experience it on Xiaomi’s powerful Mi version powered by Google. This is Android, and it’s pure and simple. Android One guarantees you to get the best version of Android ever, right out of the box of Mi A1. So you get the smartphone you want, just the way you want.

Get Everything You Want & Nothing You Don’t

You get a streamlined, safe and secure smartphone featuring your all favorite Google services like YouTube, the Google Assistant, Maps and more. On the other hand, Android One puts you in control. With no unnecessary apps preinstalled, you get a natural user experience that’s easy to navigate and customize.

Google Assistant is Always Ready to Help

Xiaomi’s new Android One smartphone is optimized for the Google Assistant where the Google Assistant is available. You can ask it to get a ride, text a friend, even order your dinner – Google Assistant of Mi A1 is always ready to help wherever you are.

Most Fortified Mobile Phone on Your Hand

Android One smartphones are among the most secure since they all get regular security software updates and come with Google Play Protect built in. Play Protect automatically helps to keep your information secure and ensure that your Mi A1 is clean, fast, and performing at its best.

Keep Your OS Updated & Fresh Over A Long Time

With Android One, your phone will receive at least two years of OS upgrades to the latest version of Android. That means access to the latest Google innovations and a smartphone that always runs as smoothly as the day you bought it.

Store All Your Memories – Photos & Videos for Free

Google Photos is the home for all your clicked photos and recorded videos with free unlimited high-quality storage, so you never run out of space again. Mi A1 is automatically organized and searchable, so it’s easy to share and save what matters.

High-Quality Video Calls Will Make Your Life Better

Google Duo is one of the highest quality video calling apps.  Simply tap the contact you want to call to start a face-to-face conversation. The Duo even switches seamlessly from Wi-Fi to cellular, so you can keep talking on the go.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Features

Of the hundreds of phones sold in the budget segment every year, a mere handful of devices stand out. The Mi A1 is the most uncompromising phone in the budget segment today. Apart from OS & UI, here is why you should go for Mi A1 from design, display, camera, and hardware point of view:

At first glance, the Mi A1 impresses with its minimalistic yet premium design and full metal chassis. The antenna bands fluidly blend with the top and bottom edges at the back, and while they look quite prominent in gold and rose gold variants, they are hardly noticeable in the black variant. There’s a minor camera bump on the back, but it’s not an eyesore.

There’s a 12 MP wide-angle lens and a 12 MP telephoto lens that work together to help you click photos with depth-of-field effect, popularly known as bokeh. The telephoto lens also supports up to 2X optical zoom. There’s a 5 MP front camera, that takes serviceable selfies unless you have shaky hands.

The Mi A1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection. The display is quite bright and the text and images look sharp. Even though the display is a tad reflective, sunlight legibility is good enough and viewing angles are great.

For the Android One experiment, Xiaomi goes for its recent favorite, the Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. Like always, the Mi A1 packs in a hybrid tray so you can either use two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card for storage expansion. However, 64 GB of onboard storage on the Mi A1 should be good enough for most users. The Mi A1 packs in 3,080 mAh battery under the hood, and thankfully, Xiaomi has now opted for the USB Type-C port for charging keeping up with the times.
